Meetings within Laboratory Animal Science and Alternatives
Norecopa maintains an up-to-date Calendar of Meetings within Laboratory Animal Science and Alternatives. This calendar is also distributed in Norecopa's newsletters which are published in Norwegian approx. 8 times a year.
Norecopa arranges international consensus meetings on the application of the 3Rs to specific areas of research involving animals. Four such meetings have been arranged (including one by the temporary platform before Norecopa was officially founded). The full scientific programme, with downloadable abstracts and presentations, as well as consensus statements and other resources produced by the participants or speakers, can be downloaded from the links below.
Harmonisation of the Care and Use of Fish in Research (May 2005)
The meeting attracted 100 participants from 10 countries.
Harmonisation of the Care and Use of Animals in Field Research (May 2008)
There were 50 participants from 5 countries at this meeting.
Harmonisation of the Care and Use of Fish in Research (September 2009)
There were 61 participants from 7 countries at this meeting.
Norecopa arranged the fourth international consensus meeting in September 2012:
Harmonisation of the Care and Use of Agricultural Animals in Research
There were 47 participants from 12 countries at this meeting.
Harmonisation of the Care and Use of Animals in Field Research (26-27 October 2017, venue Oslo airport Gardermoen). This meeting is in preparation and more details will be posted here.
Norecopa has also been involved in three meetings arranged by the RSPCA and AHVLA (now called the APHA) in the UK. The reports from the first two meetings have been published in Animal Technology and Welfare, published by the Institute of Animal Technology, and are provided here with permission:
