Description: This is a series of 14 original paper photographs of stained vaginal smears in the rat. The photos were taken to illustrate a preclinical course in physiology for veterinary students. A large version of each photo may be downloaded. The photos show: Dioestrus; Transition from Dioestrus to Pro-oestrus; Early Pro-oestrus; Pro-oestrus; The Transistion from Pro-oestrus to Oestrus; Oestrus; The Transition from Oestrus to Metoestrus; Metoestrus; The Transition from Metoestrus to Dioestrus; Anoestrus; and The Transition from Pro-oestrus to Oestrus. Each photo has a decriptive text.
