This video film investigates learning behaviour in farm animals and reveals some surprising results. Piglets show what they learn in the first hours of life, hens tackle intricate obstacle courses and show that they have the mental ability to learn from videos, calves make us aware of their internal and external effectors, and sheep outsmart scientists. These animals show us how they are able to respond to stimuli in their environment, The content, which includes classical and operant conditioning and foraging, raises awareness of techniques used in animal research and provides a platform for debates on the use of non-human animals in psychological investigation.
